About Us

Audacious Gems Limited is wholly owned by Lisa Daysh who started her company in 2013 to wholesale coloured gemstones to New Zealand’s manufacturing jewellers. The name Audacious was chosen as a play on words with Lisa's surname.  The term Audacious also reflects the carefully curated, interesting and inspiring stock list.

Having completed a diploma in Gemology with the Gemological Institute of America in 2011 Lisa is qualified in gem identification and treatments. 

Lisa travels internationally several times as year meeting with a network of mine owners, gem rough buyers and manufacturers to personally select stones. These key suppliers provide an invaluable information flow about gem sources, the ethics surrounding extraction and the path to market.

In 2019 Lisa became the Australasian importer for a new find of sapphire called Gold Sheen Sapphire from a single mine in Kenya.

With an eye to the season ahead, through closely following trends and fashion colours, Audacious Gems has a ready stock of stones to satisfy the retail customer requests.
